There is a new craft consignment store open in my little town and I have put some of my glass creations in it. I'm going with a vintage theme and can't come up with a name. What sounds good to you? I've been toying with Glass With A Past. Here are some of my pieces.
I can also just stay with Sassy Stylz but it doesn't have a vintage feel. What do you think?

Closet Sewing Space
My sewing room redo is not complete but I am so excited about how it's turning out that I have to share a little peek with you. The first thing I did was empty out the closet and have my tweeter (hubby) build a desk for the sewing machine. I painted the inside of the closet a soft blue and used the sliding door for the desk. One door was blue so I didn't even need to repaint it. I hung a jewelry hanger that I wasn't using to hold my scissors and put the picture frame bulletin board at one end and a hanging organizer at the other. My button collection is so pretty in glass jars and I love the tiered plate that holds my pin cushions. The blue ceramic tiered plate was found at a thrift store and I love the shabby chic vibe it gives the desk. I love, love love this space now and I can't wait to finish the whole room!

Bulletin Board
The first project for my new sewing room is a bulletin board. I painted an old picture frame I picked up at a garage sale. Next I covered a piece of foam board with some pretty fabric I had in my stash. I stapled it to the back of the board and added blue ribbon to hold the pictures. Popped it into the frame and it was ready to go. I love it! Total cost was $0 and it only took about 20 minutes to put together. I want to do a large one for an inspiration board.

I'm stuck in bed sick!
I have missed almost 2 weeks of work and finally been diagnosed with diverticulitis. I won't bore you with the details (google it if you want to know what it is-yuk!) but I'm feeling somewhat better and have been in bed on the computer all day. I decided this would be a good time to catch up on my blogging. I have been working on cleaning and organizing my sewing room with the help of the chattiest 10 year old I know! I pay her to come help me every Tue for 2 hours and we get tons done. Plus she thinks it's cool that she is the only one in her class that has a "job". I have been taking pictures and want to share the journey. It isn't finished, isn't even close but it is such a big job that it will take us a few weeks (months?). I'm going to share the before pictures and explain my plans.
This used to be my boys' room when they were little but since they are grown and gone it has been a dumping ground for all my crafts and sewing with NO organization.
I have a lot of organizing stuff but no idea how to use it. Since joining Pinterest I have an organization board and a sewing room board and it has created so many ideas running around in my head. It's time to let them out!
I know it looks like a hot mess but you should have seen it a couple of weeks ago when we started. This actually looks good compared to then.
I told you I have a lot of organizing "stuff" but it isn't organized. It's just stuffed into the drawers and I can't find anything. Ever.
The red and blue is going softer but the inspiration is my Peter Rabbit collection. My maiden name is Potter and I haven't researched it completely but my ancestors come from England so I feel a connection. I have been collecting for years and I still love everything from Beatrix Potter. So the blue will stay along with pink, red and a little green thrown in.
I want to put the sewing machine in the closet and then I need a sitting area, idea board, pressing station, dress form and a lot of other things that probably won't fit but I'm going to try. My first project is the idea board so check back to see that project.

Memorial Day Craftiness
It's been raining all weekend and I love the rain. Love sitting by the fire. Love staying home all day. Love cleaning my house and them doing something creative. Today I made a hot pink and black beaded watch and key charmer. I've had the beads for several weeks and haven't been able to find the time to get them done. Tonight I sat down to enjoy the season opener of "Sister Wives" and got them made. I love the way they turned out. I kind of hope it rains all day tomorrow so I can make some more.

Sunday Night
I'm sitting at my computer and reading through my blogs that I follow and realized I really should be posting on my own blog.
My mother made the whole family dinner tonight-pumpkin waffles with buttermilk cream syrup, egg casserole and hash browns. There were 25 of us at her house and it was so much fun. My brother and his family are moving to Ft. Collins, CO and my nephew is preparing to go on his mission to New York so we needed a get together before everyone scatters. You're probably wondering what this has to do with my "Sassy Stylz" blog. Well, after dinner we were all sitting around talking about Pinterest. I LOVE pinterest so I was pinning things from the blogs I follow and I came across one that was talking about her early start in sewing. That got me thinking......
I started sewing when I was 5 yrs old. My best friend, GeriDee had an older sister who was having a birthday party for her doll. Don't ask me why, probably because we didn't have anything else to do. When I asked my mom if I could buy her doll a birthday present, she just laughed and said no but I could make her something out of her sewing scraps. I used my doll as a model and cut out two pieces for pants and hand sewed them together. I remember GeriDee's sister saying "Maybe you can have your mom sew them on the sewing machine so they will stay together". That was the start. I made doll clothes for my baby doll and my Barbie. To me they were very chic but I'm sure to everyone they were childish but I have been sewing ever since. I wish I had some pictures of the clothes I made. I do still have my doll (her name is Patty) and I still make clothes for her. I made the dress she is wearing in the picture from an old pillowcase because I loved the fabric. It brings back such good memories.
