Snow Day Saturday

It is supposed to snow all day tomorrow and I'm going to enjoy every snowflake.  I plan on turning on the fireplace, firing up the sewing machine and spending all day creating.  I want new clothes for my Kindle and I've got a pattern in mind for a cute little girl's outfit as well as new clothes to sew for my cruise.  No TV, no shopping, and no phone calls.  My idea of heaven (especially since my husband has to work and can't interrupt me).

Kindle Clothes

I love turning old clothes into new and exciting items.  I've been making Kindle covers out of old sweaters and I just can't seem to stop.  At least my Kindle will be well dressed.

Fabric Mini Bolts

I fell in love with this idea when I saw it on Smashed Peas and Carrots, here.  My fabric stash was a mess!  I looked around the house to see what I had to use as the base and couldn't quite come up with the perfect thing.  I wanted something that I could recycle but it had to be quick and easy.  Then I was at JoAnn's shopping for more fabric and I asked if they threw away the old cardboard bolts.  They said they did and I was welcome to as many as I could carry.  I got out my razor knife and started cutting.  I love the results and the idea because it's something I can keep up on.  I can't wait to do my whole stash!

New Year's Resolution

Resolution #1: Restock and restyle my Etsy shop.  I haven't been very vigilant about keeping up with my blog and shop but this year I commit to be better.  I will keep my shop stocked.  I will keep the inventory fresh.  I will share the fun projects I'm working on.  I promise.  Starting tomorrow.  No, really, tomorrow.

Kennedy Rose

I finished my Kennedy Rose but I'm sick, sick, sick today so I know I won't get a picture up, but it is so pretty.  I love it!  And I'm probably going to miss my family's annual seafood dinner because the thought of smelling fish makes me want to hurl!  Boo hoo :(

Snazzie Drawers

I just finished several Starlet La Fleur flowers from Snazzie Drawers and I love them.  I bought the pattern several months ago and just got around to making them.  Now I can't wait to try the Kennedy Rose.  If you haven't seen these, click here to see her amazing patterns.  You'll love them too.

Caroline's Christmas Dress

I can't believe it's been so long since I've blogged!  I've really been doing projects, just haven't been taking pictures. 


I finished Caroline's Christmas dress today and got it in the mail just in time.  She needs it for her Christmas program next Friday and it will get to her on Thursday.  I do run on the edge sometimes.  It turned out so great that I had to take pictures.

The one thing that really saved me was the dress form I bought.  Since I don't have her here to fit, the dress form eliminated all the guesswork.  She saw pictures of it tonight and loved it!
